Eating In: Italy

During my trip to Italy I visited Rome, Venice, Florence and Pisa. It was truly one of my best culinary trips thus far. And beyond culinary, every city is truely magical. I’ve never said “Wow” so many times in a row. Every corner you turn has a breathtaking scenery. It gave me a much larger appreciation for art and life in general.

Back to the food before I get all emo.  I’m the type of girl that like simplicity. I admire creativity, but the best type of food in my opinion is food that is fresh and easy to enjoy. I don’t like complicated dishes that took two days to make and are balanced on a golden leaf, that’s then covered in fairy powder with a dinosaur sauce from Mars. Then you eat it, and you’re not even full. Give me a whole fucken pizza. I want to eat and I want to know what I’m eating.

I didn’t have one bad plate while I was here. Stuff was so good, I kept ordering the same dishes again and again. What I love about Europeans is that they take their tiiiiiiimeeee to enjoy their meals. Each meal is like a celebration. AND they love dessert and booze. I’m about that life!

Eating In: Paris

To be completely frank, I’m extremely picky when it comes to food. I’m one of those annoying people that says they don’t like something before they even try it. I know, I know…. I can’t help it. If something is raw or looks weird or smells funky, chances are it’s not going in my mouth.

But here are a few things that did go in my mouth while in France : )

*except for the steak tartare – never!

L’Amerique Big Tasty

It was actually kinda gross. The spread on it was like some funky tuna tasting thing. Left a bad taste in my mouth =/

Pistachio and Chocolate Chip Brioche

Words can’t describe it’s perfection
