Eating In: Sinaloa, Mexico

January 3, 2012

All of my family is from Mexcio. My mother, my sisters and I are the only ones that live in the US now. When we were little girls my mom use to send us off to Mexico for months at a time. There we were, 6 and 10, riding the plane in full excitement. I have countless summer memories in Sinaloa and most of my memories come from the food that originates from there. Sinaloa is really known for their specialty meats and seafood. I don’t know why, but I’ve never found food that comes close to it in the US. Everything’s fresh and handmade. Plus a dollar is currently 13 pesos and I can buy a shit load of tacos with that.

I spent Christmas there this past week and I’m surprised I don’t look like Rick Ross right now. Though I couldn’t capture nearly everything that went into my belly, below are some of my culinary joys.
